There are currently six general assignment investigators who are assigned various investigations across the department, while also preparing cases for prosecution or review by The Attorney Generals Office.

There are currently two juvenile investigators who are assigned various juvenile investigations across the department. Juvenile Detectives responsibilities include making referrals and petitions to Family Court or diversionary alternatives. Juvenile Detectives investigate adult crimes in child abuse, neglect and abandonment. They also maintain records and updating status of juvenile arrests and dispositions.

The prosecution investigator is responsible for all District Court cases from initial arraignment appearance to case disposition. The prosecution investigator also oversees Municipal Court hearings and works closely with the City Solicitor’s Office.
