Welcome to the City of Newport, Rhode Island

Newport is proud to be the first community in Rhode Island to be designated as an Age-Friendly place to live by the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) and we're committed to making Newport an even better place to live for all ages through our Newport for All Ages campaign.

Newport residents age 45 and up are invited to be a part of the process. Your input in needed to assess what the City is doing well and what we can do better. Take the survey online below, or be sure to find a hard copy available in both English and Spanish at various locations across the City.

Newport Named Rhode Island's First Age-Friendly Community

The City of Newport has been named Rhode Island's first Age Friendly Community by the nation's leading advocacy group for seniors.

AARP officially welcomed Newport as the latest member of the AARP Network of Age-Friendly States and Communities during a special presentation at the Sept. 25 City Council meeting.
